More Pretty Wedding Invitations
Wedding InvitationsIf anyone ever told me I would be DIY-ing my own wedding invitations several months ago, I would have laughed myself silly in their faces! I am no arts and craft person at all and the sight of a scissors and paper sends me into panic attacks. I once tried making a Valentine’s Day card for the fiance and I thank him for not laughing at the lop-sided heart! :p
So, how did I end up with lots of paper and craft cutters over the weekend? I have to say that the wedding card DOSSIERS I saw those lovely girls churn out on WeddingBee really gave me some inspiration! Those amazing girls have wedding invitation folders complete with invites, RSVP cards and dietary preferences packaged in a beautiful file and envelope!
Anyway, while surfing this morning, I had more panic attacks when I saw some designs that I liked but got the wrong paper for! Eeps…does not looking anymore when you have found your dream wedding gown apply to wedding invites too?!

Isn’t this the sweetest pink invite?

I love this for its simplicity and Chinese plum blossoms. But it does remind me of a Chinese New Year card!

Complicated but pretty!
Does anyone have a good suggestion on keeping the ribbon intact around a card when the receiver pulls it out of the envelope?

A piece of advice about wedding invites - don’t worry too much if for some reason it doesn’t turn out the way you wanted it in the end nor invest so much in the cards because at the end of the day, most of your invitees will (sadly) throw the cards away, unless they’re your family and close friends.
My girlfriends and I learnt that the hard way :p
Use small pieces of double-sided tape to adhere parts of the ribbon to the paper (it helps to hold the ribbon in place while you’re tying it too)…that should do the trick!
Double-sided tape can be a lifesaver in many instances during a wedding - I’m sure Tine can attest to that!! heehee…
The double sided tape is they key.
My wife and I framed our invitation so we’re glad we made it specifically to our taste. Scrap booking has become very popular so I think more people will be saving them as keepsakes.
Happy to help with the wording or anything else if necessary.
Tine, enjoy your trip to the US. I live near San Francisco if you need any suggestions.
Tine - Thanks
Am not planning to invest too much time into it!
Bee - Good tip!
But may just scrap that idea altogether!
I’ll make sure there’s lots of double sided tape around! Hehe..
