My DIY Bouquet

Flowers

I was really ill-prepared for this coming photoshoot. I left everything almost to the last minute, as usual! :P Simply because I had no idea of what I wanted! All I knew was that I didn’t want to spend too much money on the shoot.

Since I didn’t sign up for a bridal studio package, I did not have the luxury of having them prepare a nice bouquet for me on my photoshoot day. So it was another round of researching to find out how much florists charge for a simple bouquet. Needless to say, I was shocked to know that fresh flower bouquets easily cost RM100 and up for just a dozen of flowers! I was also worried that fresh flowers would wilt in the heat throughout the day, especially since I was taking my photos outdoors.

Thanks again to sis’ ingenuity, we decided to try for fake flowers instead. I did some online research on DIY bouquets and they didn’t seem that hard, even for a non-craft person like me. J didn’t seem so confident of my abilities though and offered to sponsor a fresh flower bouquet for the shoot! Hehe…so guess how I saved on my bouquet?

About 2 days before the shoot, we found a little flower shop with pretty little paper roses all nicely bunched up. The florist then did a fantastic job of tying up the bunches with a very pretty satin and organza bow.

It was certainly a pretty little posy, don’t you think? :)

Best of all, it costed less the fraction of the price of a normal bouquet! And J whole-heartedly gave his approval when he saw them, thinking they were real!

They held up beautifully during the shoot and now sit prettily in my wardrobe waiting for their next task on my actual day. I love great bargains! :)

That’s a pretty bouquet :) Yeah, it’ll definitely save you a LOT of $$$. Tim and I spent so much on our wedding flowers. It’s the MIL’s decision, so I can’t say anything. But really, 4K on flowers very nearly gave me a heart attack.

PE says: Thanks Tine :) Oh well…if it was MIL’s decision then better to just go with it. But the floral arch you had was really beautiful and you could reuse it for your night function so it wasn’t entirely wasted :)

Hehe…oh I remember those flowers - Tine’s flowers were EVERYWHERE.

Your ‘paper flower’ bouquet definitely passes for real flowers…and they’ll last for a long long time too… :)

PE says: Thanks Bee :) Gotta thank PB for this. She found the little flower shop and I love how it costed a lot less than real flowers too!
