Church Wedding

Church

I’m a sucker for packaging :p

So when we were discussing about having a church wedding, my condition was that it had to be in a nice church with gorgeous stained glass windows, wooden pews and the lot! :p Otherwise, it was going to be a garden thing which unfortunately, how has to be scrapped. Luckily most churches have a website now so googling for churches in KL wasn’t too difficult.

One church that is really nice is the St Mary’s Cathedral near Dataran Merdeka. It had wooden pews with gorgeous stained glass windows in a building that dated all the way back to 1887.

Unfortunately, it is an Anglican church and J isn’t an Anglican so as much as I loved it, I don’t think we’ll be able to use it.

So I widened my search further and with some help from Tine’s wedding blog (Thank you Tine!), I found a Presbyterian church which was just as gorgeous smack in the middle of KL - The St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on Jalan Raja Chulan.

It’s a quaint little church that looks like it came right out of the English countryside and has been around for the past 100 years. We went there last Sunday for their traditional worship and I really loved it. It was pretty, quaint and had my requisite wooden pews and stained glass windows! :)

Best of all, J’s a Presbyterian so it means we can rent the church for our ceremony! Yippee!

The only thing about renting St Andrew’s is that they only take bookings 4 months ahead of your ceremony and as expected, with a church this beautiful, the list of people queuing up to book it is really long! Yet another problem we were facing was that we were planning to hold our ceremony on a Sunday before our dinner reception and I was told that the church might not allow ceremonies to be held on Sunday due to their worship sessions.

I’ve emailed the person in charge and am waiting with bated breath on what she would say. Am hoping very very hard we can get it on the days we want! Please, please, please….

    Hi Pink Elle,

I can’t seem to find an email address to contact you with, so is it all right if you drop me an email? Would like to send you a link to our wedding photos, specifically the ones taken at St Andrew’s church. And also to let you know of the people you’ll be dealing with, etc etc.

Drop me a line, ya? :)
