Carcosa Seri Negara
Wedding PlanningI dragged sis out of bed early on Sunday morning to accompany met to the Carcosa Wedding Fair. Aye, she’s my unwilling wedding planner whose gotten really busy which is why I’m starting to panic! Well, erm…just a little :p
The email said that the first 18 couples were entitled to some freebie which sounded really good from the advertisement - free pre-wedding shoot, free bridesmaid gown and what not. Unfortunately, despite kiasu me being there nice and early, there weren’t any real freebies! All I got was a voucher which entitled me to yet another lucky draw! Sheesh…how lucky can one get?!
That aside, Carcosa is a simply beautiful place to hold a wedding. They had a gorgeous area set up for a solemnization which was the true epitome of a garden wedding. It was held on the balcony so there was some shade amidst a beautiful setting filled with fresh flowers.
I checked their packages out and *faint* needless to say, beauty definitely comes with a price tag! A very steep one at that! To hold a wedding in Carcosa Seri Negara, one should be prepared to fork out more than RM2,000 a table for a choice of Malay or French food, MINUS drinks!
With that kind of price tag, I guess a wedding scene like the one below is just a dream!

- Wedding Fair - Carcosa Seri Negara
- Wedding In Style Workshop
- Bridal Studio or Not?
- T-minus 3 days

I remember checking out the prices there too and realising all we could afford were cucumber sandwiches! LMAO
Ok, this is just my opinion on weddings. Of course it’s your special, one-in-a-million day. You want everything to be perfect and wonderful. But really… don’t go over the top. A cousin of Dear Monkey’s flew his then gf to NYC to pick out a ring at Tiffany’s and then threw a HUGE bash at a Scottish castle. Result? Lots and lots of debt to pay off and threw a spanner in the works regarding their housing. Marriage isn’t just about that one day.
Just my opinion… pick something great but won’t kill you in terms of time and finances and you’ll be more the happier for it, really.
PE says: Thanks Cheesy Poo!
Agree with you on that. It’s hard to keep costs low though! KL prices are really quite shocking!
